Set up an AI assistant

Remote Desktop Manager supports AI integration with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Ollama, Gemini, Mistral AI, Clude (Anthropic) and Azure AI Inference. These can be leveraged through an AI assistant session entry or the AI assistant panel.

Data is only processed through these customer provided AI integrations.

To link your preferred AI provider with Remote Desktop Manager via a session entry, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on New entry, then find the AI assistant session entry under SessionRemote connections. Click on Save.

  2. Enter a Name for the new entry, choose a Provider, select a Model, and input an API key (and an Endpoint if applicable). Click on Save.

To use the AI assistant as a separate side panel, head over to FileSettingsAI, enter your provider’s informations, and click on Save. Then, click on the AI assistant button in the Window menu bar, located in the Panels section.

Connect an AI assistant to local MCP server

  1. First, configure a local MCP server.

  2. Click the Add button in the MCP servers section (either in FileSettingsAI or an AI assistant entry).

  3. Minimally enter a Name, Type and Web URL or your MCP server, then click Ok. Cick Save to effectuate the changes.
