Difference between major and minor versions

Major version

A major version refers to a release that introduces significant changes, new features, or major enhancements. The major version is identified by the first number after the year. For example, in 2024.3.27.0, the major version is 3.

Minor version

A minor version consists of incremental updates within a major version. These updates often include bug fixes, security patches, and minor enhancements but do not introduce major new features or changes that significantly alter functionality. For example, in 2024.3.27.0, the minor version is 27.
