PowerShell Universal FAQ

PowerShell Universal (PSU) has officially joined Devolutions. This FAQ aims to answer the most common questions about the acquisition and clarify what it means for current PSU users.

Licensing and subscriptions

Q: Is my contract or license going to change?
A: All existing licenses and current contracts remain valid.

Q: Is the licensing model changing?
A: PowerShell Universal (PSU) will continue to use a server-based licensing model and will be sold separately from the user-based licenses of our other products. Effective January 1, the End User License Agreement will be updated to list Devolutions as the licensor in place of Ironman Software.

Q: Do I need to transfer my license to Devolutions?
A: No action is required on your part at this stage.

Technical support

Q: Who provides technical support?
A: Support is currently provided by the PowerShell Universal team. Either consult Ironman software’s documentation or create a ticket on the portal.

Q: Is there a support email to forward tickets to, or should I use the support portal?
A
: You can email support@ironmansoftware.com Software’s support directly and they will create tickets in Ironman’s Zoho Desk account.

Sales and renewals

Q: Who will handle license sales and renewals from now on?
A: For now, sales and renewals must go through the Ironman Software store or resellers as usual. Everything stays in place for the moment, trial license, demos, forum, purchases (including resellers), quotes, etc. Devolutions will publish a transition guide before effectuating any changes.

Q: Is there a specific sales contact or email to use for sales inquiries?
A
: You can forward emails to sales@ironmansoftware.com for sales queries.

Data protection and privacy policy

Q: What happens to my data?
A: Customer data and existing accounts remain under the same privacy terms as before.

Q: Is the PowerShell Universal product going to change?
A: PowerShell Universal's name and features remain unchanged for now. While we are evaluating integration options between PSU, Remote Desktop Manager, and the broader Devolutions portfolio, our immediate priority is completing PSU’s transition to Devolutions.

Q: What are Devolutions long-term plans for PowerShell Universal?
A: Devolutions intends to invest in the development and stability of PowerShell Universal while ensuring compatibility with existing solutions. Any major changes will be announced on the Devolutions and Ironman Software blogs.
