A scan configuration is a discovery task in Devolutions PAM that identifies new or modified accounts for a provider. It operates by executing either an internal account discovery action for built-in providers or an account discovery action script when used with AnyIdentity providers.
Once the discovery action runs, the scan configuration returns a list of accounts found on the target system. These accounts can then be imported into Devolutions PAM to be securely managed and monitored. This process facilitates automation, ensuring privileged accounts are accurately inventoried and reducing manual tracking errors.
Scan configurations help centralize and streamline onboarding workflows for accounts across varied platforms, making them especially valuable in dynamic environments where account states change frequently.
