# Troubleshooting

Find the fix for what you see: failed updates, WinGet problems, antivirus warnings, scheduled updates that don't run, and missing apps.

Start from what you see. Each page explains why it happens, then gives the most likely fix first.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>An update or installation fails</strong></td><td>An operation turns red, or an app stays on its old version.</td><td><a href="/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/update-or-install-fails.md">An update or installation fails</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>WinGet is missing or broken</strong></td><td>WinGet apps aren't listed, or you see "WinGet malfunction detected".</td><td><a href="/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/winget-missing-or-broken.md">WinGet is missing or broken</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>My antivirus flags UniGetUI</strong></td><td>The installer is blocked, or a file is quarantined.</td><td><a href="/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/antivirus-flags-unigetui.md">My antivirus flags UniGetUI</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Scheduled updates don't run</strong></td><td>Nothing is checked, installed or backed up at the scheduled time.</td><td><a href="/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/scheduled-updates-dont-run.md">Scheduled updates don't run</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>An app I installed isn't listed</strong></td><td>An app is missing, or never shows an update.</td><td><a href="/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/app-not-listed.md">An app I installed isn't listed</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Send logs to support</strong></td><td>Collect what support needs to help you.</td><td><a href="/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/send-logs-to-support.md">Send logs to support</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Frequently asked questions</strong></td><td>Quick answers about cost, safety, admin rights, other platforms and more.</td><td><a href="/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/faq.md">Frequently asked questions</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

**First reflex:** UniGetUI runs package managers for you, and their output almost always explains the problem. Open the output of the failed operation before anything else. [How UniGetUI works](/unigetui/guides/understand/how-it-works.md) explains why.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.devolutions.net/unigetui/help/troubleshooting.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
