# Remove several apps at once

Select the apps you no longer need and uninstall all of them in one batch, without opening each uninstaller.

Cleaning up a computer one uninstaller at a time is slow. In UniGetUI, you select the apps you don't need anymore and remove them in one batch, even if they come from different package managers.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Find the apps to remove

Open ***Installed Packages*** in the menu on the left. It lists the apps your package managers can detect, including many you didn't install through UniGetUI.

To find apps quickly, type in the search box at the top of the window, or click ***Filters*** and keep only one source under ***Sources***.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Select them

Select the check box of each app you want to remove. Check the list twice: the uninstalls start as soon as you click.

{% hint style="info" %}
Not sure what an app is? Double-click it to see its publisher and homepage before deciding.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Uninstall

Click ***Uninstall selection***. UniGetUI queues the uninstalls and runs them one after another. Follow the progress at the bottom of the window.

Some apps need something else. Click the arrow beside ***Uninstall selection*** and choose:

* ***Uninstall as administrator*** (Windows) for apps installed for all users.
* ***Interactive uninstall*** to see each uninstaller and answer its questions yourself.
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

## Also remove the app's data

A regular uninstall usually leaves your settings and files behind, so they're still there if you reinstall the app later. To wipe them too, right-click a single app and choose ***Uninstall and remove data***. It's only available for package managers that support it.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Data removed this way can't be brought back by reinstalling the app.
{% endhint %}

## Good to know

* **Want to reinstall them later?** Before you uninstall, select the same apps and click ***Add selection to bundle***, then save the bundle. See [Create a bundle of your apps](/unigetui/guides/new-computer/create-a-bundle.md).
* **Keep a record.** ***Export to CSV*** saves the checked apps, or the whole list if none is checked, to a spreadsheet.
* **An app stays in the list after uninstalling.** Click ***Reload*** to refresh the list. If it's still there, read the operation output and see [An app I installed isn't listed](/unigetui/help/troubleshooting/app-not-listed.md).
* **An app isn't listed.** No enabled package manager recognizes it. Remove it from your system's own app settings instead. See [What UniGetUI doesn't do](/unigetui/guides/understand/limits.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.devolutions.net/unigetui/guides/install/bulk-uninstall.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
