# Create entries manually

Create entries manually and save your data in Devolutions Server.

### Create an entry

1. Select the vault or user vault and the folder in which you wish to create the new entry.
2. Click on the ***Add*** button located in the ***navigation pane***.

3. Select an [entry type](https://docs.devolutions.net/server/web-interface/vault/entries/entry-type/) from the list.

4. Click ***Continue***.
5. Configure the entry with all the required information.
6. Click ***Add*** to save.

### Create a sub entry

Sub entries are full-fledged, independant entries located bewlow a "parent" entry in the tree view. They refer to their parent with an ID. They are compatible with attachments, documentation, full history, etc.

You cannot create sub entries via the Devolutions Server web interface. You must use Remote Desktop Manager with a Devolutions Server workspace. See [Create an entry](https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/commands/edit/creating-new-entry/).
