# Difference between major and minor versions

#### Major version

A major version refers to a release that introduces significant changes, new features, or major enhancements. The major version is identified by the first number after the year. For example, in ***2024.3.27.0***, the major version is ***3***.

#### Minor version

A minor version consists of incremental updates within a major version. These updates often include bug fixes, security patches, and minor enhancements but do not introduce major new features or changes that significantly alter functionality. For example, in ***2024.3.27.0***, the minor version is ***27***.
