# Backup-Codes

Backup-Codes sind Validierungscodes, die Benutzern einmaligen Zugriff auf Devolutions Server gewähren, wenn sie keinen Zugriff auf ihr gewöhnliches Produkt oder Gerät für die Multi-Faktor-Authentifizierung (MFA) haben. Sie müssen im Vorfeld generiert und für den Notfall sicher aufbewahrt werden.

Ein Administrator muss die Option zuerst aktivieren, danach können Benutzer ihre Backup-Codes generieren.

### Einstellungen

#### Backup-Codes aktivieren (Administrator)

Ein Administrator muss Backup-Codes als alternative MFA-Methode aktivieren:

1. Aktivieren Sie unter ***Administration – Server settings – Multifactor*** das Kontrollkästchen ***Backup codes*** und klicken Sie dann neben der Option auf ***Configure***.

2. Legen Sie die ***Number of backup codes*** fest, die ein Benutzer generieren kann, und klicken Sie dann auf ***Save***.

3. Klicken Sie auf das Symbol ***Save*** im Abschnitt ***Multifactor***, um Ihre Änderungen zu speichern.

Wenn Ihre ***MFA usage*** auf ***MFA Optional per User*** eingestellt ist, müssen Sie MFA für jeden Benutzer konfigurieren, bevor dieser Backup-Codes generieren kann. #### Backup-Codes generieren (Benutzer)

1. Um Backup-Codes zu generieren, klicken Sie auf Ihren Avatar im Seitenmenü von Devolutions Server und klicken Sie dann auf ***Edit your Account***.

2. Gehen Sie zu ***Alternate MFA*** und klicken Sie auf ***Generate backup codes***. Eine Liste von Backup-Codes wird angezeigt. Der Benutzer kann die Codes kopieren und einfügen und sie für den Notfall an einem sicheren Ort aufbewahren.
