# Variablen

Variablen in der Devolutions-Plattform sind Platzhalter, die zur Laufzeit aufgelöst werden, sodass Sie Werte wiederverwenden können, ohne sie hart zu codieren. Häufige Beispiele sind der Verweis auf einen Eintrag mit Anmeldeinformationen, einen Benutzernamen oder einen umgebungsspezifischen Pfad innerhalb einer Befehlszeile oder eines Skripts.

Devolutions Server speichert die zugrunde liegenden Daten, während Clients wie Remote Desktop Manager die Variablen beim Starten einer Sitzung oder beim Ausführen eines Tools erweitern. Die Verwendung von Variablen vermeidet das Kopieren von Geheimnissen an viele Stellen, vereinfacht die Passwortrotation und ermöglicht es, denselben Eintrag in mehreren Umgebungen zu verwenden.
