# Offline

Offline mode with Devolutions Server allows client applications to keep an encrypted local cache of selected entries when the server is unreachable. Users can still view and use previously synchronized credentials and sessions, while changes are queued until connectivity is restored. A Devolutions Server workspace can be accessed offline through Remote Desktop Manager or Devolutions Password Manager.

Administrators control whether offline data is permitted and for which vaults, balancing productivity with data loss and confidentiality concerns. A common pattern is to allow limited offline access for support engineers who occasionally work without VPN, while keeping highly sensitive administrative vaults online only.
