# Devolutions Send in Devolutions Cloud

Use Devolutions Send in Devolutions Cloud to share passwords and secrets securely via in-app messaging, email, or an encrypted shareable link.

Send a password through in-app secure messaging or email external contacts directly from an entry. Create a shareable link to send secrets outside your organization securely.

This feature needs the user to have ***Send messages with attachments*** enabled. This option can be found under ***Administration*** – ***Users***. It is enabled by default for each user.

The ***External password sharing*** option also needs to be enabled for this feature to work. The option can be found under ***Administration*** – ***System settings*** – ***Advanced***. It is enabled by default.

Administrators choose the Send region in the same ***Advanced*** section. See [Choose a Devolutions Send region](/send/choose-a-region.md).

### Features

Despite sharing the same underlying architecture, slight differences exist between the feature set of the standalone and in-app versions of Devolutions Send.

* Unique link encrypted on the client side.
* Valid for a customizable amount of time.
* Optional protection via a client-provided passphrase.
* Users may be non-Devolutions users (not linked to a Devolutions Account).
* Character limit of 10 kB.
* File attachments up to 30 MB for authenticated users.
* A sender email is required and stored with the GUID as part of the “payload” stored in the database.
* Encrypted payload stored in Canada or Europe, depending on the workspace region.

### How to use Devolutions Send with Devolutions Cloud

Devolutions Send is integrated into workspace messages, accessible from ***Messages*** in the web interface. For details, see [***Secure messages***](https://docs.devolutions.net/cloud/web-interface/secure-messages).

It is also available in the password field of credential entries and document entries. Look for the Send icon.

In either location, you can choose from three options:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.devolutions.net/send/devolutions-send-in-devolutions-cloud.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
