Extensions manager

In Remote Desktop Manager, the Extensions manager is a modular tool that lets users install and activate optional components without bloating the default installation. It centralizes the management of browser and KeePass extension modules, as well as add-ons for session types, VPNs, tunnels, and gateways. By enabling only the components you need, the Extensions manager keeps the application lean while still supporting a wide range of integrations and protocols.

When an extension is activated, its associated entry types or features become available throughout Remote Desktop Manager. For example, a newly enabled VPN add-on will appear in the Add new entry dialog, and an installed browser extension can be paired with Remote Desktop Manager to autofill credentials directly from the vault.

Here are the steps to install an extension:

  1. In Remote Desktop Manager's ribbon, navigate to ToolsExtensions manager.

  1. Select the appropriate tab: Browser extension, KeePass extension, Session, or VPN/Tunnel/Gateway. Locate the extension you want to install from the list.

  2. Click Install or Activate add-on, depending on the tab.

  3. When prompted, restart Remote Desktop Manager to load the new module.

Once RDM has restarted, the extension is ready to use in your entries and workflows.
