# Website entry display and loading issues

Fix Website entries in Remote Desktop Manager that open in the wrong browser, fail on certificate errors, show script error dialogs, or open windows in the background.

The following issues can occur when you open a ***Website*** entry in Remote Desktop Manager Windows. Most of them concern the embedded mode, where the website opens in a tab of Remote Desktop Manager instead of a separate browser window.

### Website opens in Microsoft Edge instead of Google Chrome

#### Cause

Google Chrome, Firefox, and Opera cannot run embedded in Remote Desktop Manager. When a ***Website*** entry set to one of these browsers opens in embedded mode, Remote Desktop Manager displays the website in the embedded Microsoft Edge browser instead.

#### Solution

To use Google Chrome, set the entry to open in external mode, then select ***Google Chrome*** in the ***Web browser*** drop-down menu of the ***General*** tab of the entry properties.

### Website does not load because of a certificate error

#### Cause

The website presents a certificate that is not trusted by the workstation, such as a self-signed certificate on an internal device.

#### Solution

Deploying a trusted certificate on the website is the most secure option. If your security policy allows it, open the properties of the ***Website*** entry, go to the ***Settings*** tab, and enable ***Ignore certificate errors***. This option is available in embedded mode.

### Script error dialogs appear in the embedded browser

#### Cause

The website runs scripts that raise errors. In external mode, the browser handles these errors silently, but the embedded browser can display them in a dialog.

#### Solution

Open the properties of the ***Website*** entry, go to the ***Settings*** tab, and enable ***Disable script dialogue***.

### External windows open in the background

#### Cause

When Remote Desktop Manager launches an external application or browser window, Windows can prevent that window from taking the focus. The window then opens behind Remote Desktop Manager.

#### Solution

Lower the ***ForegroundLockTimeout*** value of the user profile so that new windows can take the focus.

1. Open the ***Registry Editor***.
2. Go to `HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop`.
3. Set the ***ForegroundLockTimeout*** DWORD value to `0`. The Windows default is `200000`.
4. Sign out of Windows and sign back in to apply the change.

With this setting, applications that use add-ons, such as Microsoft Word, may also take the focus each time an add-on performs an action. Observe how the applications you use most often react and choose the setting that works best for you.
