# SQL Server installation fails

Fix SQL Server installation failing through the Devolutions Server Console version 2025.1 by manually installing SQL Server Express instead.

Attempting to install SQL Server with Devolutions Server Console on a machine that does not already have SQL Server installed causes the process to fail. This issue occurs in version 2025.1 of the Devolutions Server Console.

### Solution

The issue can be bypassed by performing a manual installation of SQL Server Express.
