# FortiClient VPN

Here is a workaround to use a VPN in combination with FortiClient.

1. Retrieve the Fortinet tools from Fortinet, for example `FortiClientTools_7.0.2.0090`.

   <div data-gb-custom-block data-tag="hint" data-style="success" class="hint hint-success"><p>You must keep your FortiClient installed.</p></div>
2. Copy this directory to a directory on your computer.
3. Enable Forticlient VPN/SSL in ***Tools - Extension manager***.
4. In an RDP entry ***Properties*** go to ***Connection - VPN/SSH/GATEWAY***.
5. Change the VPN ***Type*** for ***FortiClient VPN/SSL***.
6. Click the ***Settings (FortiClient VPN/SSL)*** tab.
7. Change the ***Connection mode*** for ***FortiSSL***.
8. Configure your tunnel and click ***OK***.
9. Launch the connection for your RDP entry.

{% hint style="info" %}
On the first connection it will ask for the path of the FortiClient tools you have saved on your computer.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

```
The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
