# SonicWall VPN and SonicWall NetExtender

Compare SonicWall VPN and SonicWall NetExtender entries in Remote Desktop Manager, covering connection, credential, and advanced VPN settings.

Remote Desktop Manager boasts two distinct SonicWall integrations: ***SonicWall Global VPN Client*** and ***SonicWall NetExtender***. The former lets users launch and automate SonicWall VPN connections and the latter provides a secure alternative for SSL VPN tunnels. Both entries are created from the ***Network access*** category of the ***New entry*** dialog.

### SonicWall Global VPN Client

The ***SonicWall Global VPN Client*** entry can store credentials and pass them directly to the SonicWall VPN client to avoid manual management. The entry works with all connection types supported in Remote Desktop Manager.

### SonicWall NetExtender

The ***SonicWall NetExtender*** entry provides an alternative for teams using both the standard SonicWall client and NetExtender in different environments.

### VPN settings

Both entries share the settings of the ***VPN settings*** tab.
