# Convert an entry with template groups

Remote Desktop Manager allows you to convert an entry with [template groups](https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/commands/file/templates/creating-templates/#template-groups) and add preset sub connections to the converted main entry.

1. Open Remote Desktop Manager.
2. Right click on an entry and select ***Edit – Edit (Special Actions)***.
3. The ***Edit – Special Action Selection*** window opens.
4. Select ***Convert with Templates***.
5. Click ***OK***.

6. The ***Entry Conversion with Template*** window opens.
7. Choose which ***entry parts*** you want to keep.
8. Click ***Add template sub entries***. You can also select ***Clear current sub entries*** if needed.
9. Select ***Shared*** or ***Local template***.
10. Click ***OK***. The entry has been converted.
