Synchronize vaults

Synchronization ensures that any changes made to a vault, such as updating passwords or adding new sessions, are propagated across all connected devices and users in real-time.

Configuration

  1. Open Remote Desktop Manager.

  2. Select the data source.

  3. Go to Administration - System settings - Cache/offline and check Allow sync all vaults (background).

  4. Click Save to close the window.

    Note that the Allow sync all vaults (background) setting can be overridden by a GPO.

  5. Edit the data source.

  6. In the Advanced tab, select between On first load and Manual on the Sync all vaults (background) drop-down menu.

  7. Click Save to close the window.

To synchronize documents, go to the document entry's properties and check Synchronize documention to offline under Security settings.

Offline changes

When the data source is offline, vaults can be edited if read/write rights have been enabled for the user.

  1. Open Remote Desktop Manager.

  2. Select the data source.

  3. Go to Administration - Users.

  4. Select the user.

  5. Click Edit user - Settings - Offline mode and select Read/write in the dropdown menu.

  6. Click Ok to save.

  7. In the ribbon of Remote Desktop Manager, click File - Go offline.

  8. Make changes to the vault.

  9. In the ribbon of Remote Desktop Manager, click File - Go online.

  10. The Offline edits window opens.

  11. Conflicts can be resolved before synchronization.

  12. Click Ok to save edits and go online.

Manual background vault synchronization


To perform a manual background vault synchronization, click on the Sync all available vault icon is located in the status bar (bottom-right) of Remote Desktop Manager.

The color turns orange when a background synchronization is in progress.
