# Variablen testen

Damit das Passwort als Variable verfügbar ist, müssen Sie in die ***Security Settings*** des Eintrags gehen und ***Allow password in variable*** aktivieren. Wenn die Option ausgegraut ist, müssen Sie ***Allow password variables for all entries*** und ***Allow password variable in macros*** in ***Administration – System Settings – Password Policy*** aktivieren.

Wenn Sie in Ihren Einträgen den Anmeldeinformationsmodus ***Linked (vault)*** verwenden, müssen Sie die Option ***Allow password in variable*** ebenfalls im verknüpften Anmeldeinformationseintrag aktivieren.

Das ***Auto Typing Macro*** von Remote Desktop Manager ist sehr hilfreich, um Benutzerinteraktionen zu simulieren. Es wird meist verwendet, um eine automatische Anmeldung auf Webseiten durchzuführen, aber Sie können damit auch erweiterte Shell-Befehle auf verschiedenen Betriebssystemen ausführen.

Manchmal müssen Sie genau überprüfen, was bei der Verwendung unserer Variablen gesendet wird.

Ein einfacher Trick besteht darin, eine Batch-Datei zu erstellen, die einfach ausgibt, was in der Befehlszeile gesendet wird.

Kopieren Sie einfach Folgendes in Ihren bevorzugten Editor und speichern Sie es als Befehlsdatei; ich habe meine parrot.bat genannt

```

Nun ist es ganz einfach: Erstellen Sie eine Command Line (External Application)-Sitzung, setzen Sie die Befehlszeile auf den Pfad der Datei parrot.bat und fügen Sie die Variablen direkt danach hinzu.

`"C:\tools\parrot.bat" $DOMAIN$ $IP$ $USERNAME$`

Wenn Sie den Eintrag nun ausführen, sehen Sie genau, welche Werte gesendet werden.
