# Restore-RDMEntryHistory

Restore-RDMEntryHistory reverts a live Remote Desktop Manager entry to one of its previous versions.

### Synopsis

Revert an entry to a previous version

### Syntax

#### \_\_AllParameterSets

```
Restore-RDMEntryHistory [-History] <PSConnectionHistory> [-PassThru]
 [-ForcePromptAnswer <DialogResult[]>] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]
```

### Description

Revert a live entry to one of its previous versions, obtained from Get-RDMEntryHistory. The current password history is preserved and the version's embedded document, if any, is restored. If the version's folder differs from the entry's current folder, the entry keeps its current folder and a warning is raised instead of the interactive prompt shown by the Windows client.

### Examples

#### Example 1

```powershell
PS C:\> Get-RDMEntryHistory -InputObject $id | Where-Object ModifiedDate -eq $target | Restore-RDMEntryHistory -PassThru
```

Revert the entry to a specific version and return the reverted entry.

#### Example 2

```powershell
PS C:\> $currentUserName = ([xml](Get-RDMEntry $id | ConvertTo-RDMEntryXml)).Connection.Credentials.UserName
        foreach ($version in Get-RDMEntryHistory -InputObject $id) {
            $versionUserName = ([xml]($version | ConvertTo-RDMEntryXml)).Connection.Credentials.UserName
            if ($versionUserName -eq $currentUserName) {
                continue
            }
            $version | Restore-RDMEntryHistory
            break
        }
```

Revert the entry to the last version before its username was changed.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.devolutions.net/powershell/powershell-commands/restore-rdmentryhistory.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
