# Invoke-RDMUserCleanup

Invoke-RDMUserCleanup disables or deletes Remote Desktop Manager users that no longer match their identity provider, typically the ones reported by Sync-RDMUser.

### Synopsis

Disable or delete users that no longer match their identity provider.

### Syntax

#### \_\_AllParameterSets

```
Invoke-RDMUserCleanup [-InputObject] <PSUserSyncResult[]> -CleanupOption <UserCleanupOption>
 [-UnassignLicenses] [-TransferUserVaultToSharedVault] [-ForcePromptAnswer <DialogResult[]>]
 [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]
```

### Description

Disable or delete users that no longer match their identity provider, normally the ones reported by Sync-RDMUser. Every piped user receives the same CleanupOption, so run the cmdlet once per option to apply a mix. Users left out of the pipeline are untouched. Deleted users are moved to the deleted users list rather than removed permanently. Requires a Devolutions Server workspace.

### Examples

#### Example 1

```powershell
PS C:\> Sync-RDMUser -Provider Domain | Invoke-RDMUserCleanup -CleanupOption Disable -UnassignLicenses
```

Disable every user the domain could not reconcile and release the licenses they held.

#### Example 2

```powershell
PS C:\> $flagged = Sync-RDMUser -Provider Domain
PS C:\> $flagged | Where-Object Reason -eq 'Disabled' | Invoke-RDMUserCleanup -CleanupOption Disable
PS C:\> $flagged | Where-Object Reason -eq 'NotFound' | Invoke-RDMUserCleanup -CleanupOption Delete -TransferUserVaultToSharedVault
```

Apply a different option to each group, keeping the private vault contents of the deleted users.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.devolutions.net/powershell/powershell-commands/invoke-rdmusercleanup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
