Credential management

Credential management in the context of privileged access management (PAM) focuses on securing, controlling, and monitoring access to privileged accounts. It involves centralized storage of credentials, automated credential rotation, and secure injection into sessions without exposing them to end users.

In Devolutions PAM, credential management is designed to protect high-risk accounts by brokering credentials on behalf of the user. Credentials are stored in encrypted vaults and injected into sessions, minimizing the risk of credential theft. Access to credentials is governed by strict permissions and can be audited for compliance.

Credential management can also be extended by integrating external PAM solutions. This allows organizations to leverage their existing infrastructure while still benefiting from secure session brokering and audit trails within Remote Desktop Manager.
