Use the emergency kit with Devolutions Hub

The Emergency kit contains a key that will be required in case the Devolutions Account password is lost or reset. If the password is forgotten, the emergency key is the only way to recover access to Devolutions Hub. The key restores the link between your Devolutions Account and your Devolutions Hub (Devolutions Hub Business and Devolutions Hub Personal).

  1. Go to your Devolutions Account.

  2. Enter your username and click Continue.

  3. Click Forgot Password to receive an access code via email.

  4. Enter the access code received by email and click Next.

  5. The Retrieve Encryption Key window opens. Check I understand that without my emergency kit, I will no longer be able to access Devolutions Hub Business and/or Devolutions Hub Personal using this key.

The Encryption key is your private key stored in your Devolutions Account. It decrypts the Devolutions Hub key, which then decrypts all Devolutions Hub data. If you select Forgot password, your private key is regenerated and can no longer decrypt the Devolutions Hub key. Make sure that you have the Emergency kit at hand before you continue.

  6. Click Generate a new encryption key.

Regular re-download of the emergency key

Devolutions does not retain the encryption keys; therefore, it is imperative to maintain a secure and reliable method for regaining access in the event of an emergency. After six months, Devolutions Hub will prompt Hub owners to validate their emergency key. This allows owners to verify that their current emergency key remains valid and accessible, or to generate a new one if required.
