# Erste Schritte

Dieser Abschnitt behandelt die Bereitstellung und Verbindung von Devolutions Gateway, unabhängig davon, ob es über [Devolutions Cloud](/gateway/de/getting-started/devolutions-cloud.md) oder [Devolutions Server](/gateway/de/getting-started/devolutions-server.md) gehostet oder direkt unter [Linux](/gateway/de/getting-started/devolutions-gateway-configuration-on-linux.md) installiert wird. Devolutions Gateway ermöglicht Just-in-Time-Verbindungen auf Sitzungsebene, ohne die globale Netzwerkkonfiguration eines Systems zu ändern, und bietet damit eine flexible und sichere Alternative zu VPNs.

Zu den ersten Schritten gehört die Installation der Gateway-Komponente für Ihre Umgebung und deren anschließende Verknüpfung mit Remote Desktop Manager, damit Sitzungen darüber geleitet werden können. Anschließend können Sie mit Gateway-Regelsätzen den Netzwerkzugriff in [Devolutions Cloud](/gateway/de/getting-started/devolutions-cloud/gateway-ruleset-configuration-in-devolutions-cloud.md) oder [Devolutions Server](/gateway/de/getting-started/devolutions-server/gateway-ruleset-configuration-in-devolutions-server.md) einschränken und segmentieren, Verbindungen nach IP, Subnetz, IP-Bereich oder Domäne zulassen oder verweigern und den Zugriff auf Benutzer-, Gruppen- oder Tresorebene durchsetzen, ohne eine separate Gateway-Instanz einzurichten. Für Bereitstellungen, die ein höheres Sitzungsvolumen verarbeiten oder Single Points of Failure vermeiden müssen, fassen [Devolutions Gateway-Farmen](/gateway/de/getting-started/devolutions-cloud/devolutions-gateway-farms.md) mehrere Gateways zusammen, um die Sitzungslast zu verteilen und die Verfügbarkeit aufrechtzuerhalten, wenn ein Gateway ausfällt.
