Before using your application, you will have to complete a quick setup that involves selecting your Devolutions product(s), connecting to your account, and configuring security settings. The Workspace desktop app can be used with Devolutions Server, Devolutions Hub Business, and Devolutions Hub Personal.
The following steps detail how to install Workspace desktop app:
Download the Workspace desktop app that matches your operating system.
Launch the installation wizard.
Click on Install.
Follow the steps below to perform the initial configuration of your Workspace desktop app:
-
Once the installation is complete, in the Workspace apps setup window, check the solution you wish to add, then click on Start setup.
-
Next, enter the URL of the solution (skip this step for Devolutions Hub Personal).
-
Log in to your Devolutions Account.
Adding a Devolutions Hub Business space requires the additional step of choosing which Hub to connect to.
-
Choose a backup option (strongly recommended) and click on Next.
-
Enable the use of a biometric lock (Windows Hello, Touch ID, etc.) or a master password (strongly recommended). The Biometric lock setting can be found later in File – Settings – Security and privacy.
Use biometric lock: Your device will prompt you to authenticate using this method. It must first be configured on your device to work with Workspace.
Use master password: Workspace will ask you to create a password of at least 8 characters.
-
Click on Done to complete the initial setup of your first space.
Adding more spaces can be done by clicking on the Add space (cross icon), located either in the sidebar or the Home section of Workspace, and following the same steps described above.
In order to work properly on Linux, the Workspace desktop app is dependent on a few packages that must be downloaded and installed beforehand:

libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0
libsqlite3-dev
libcurl4t64
libayatana-appindicator3-1
libjpeg-turbo8
The latest version of Workspace desktop app for Linux can be downloaded from Cloudsmith or from Devolution’ website, and is available for Ubuntu 2024.04 and up. The installation process is the same as for the other operating systems.
