# System permissions

***System Permissions*** are used to provide administrative rights to specific users or user groups. They can be assigned at the ***System*** and ***vaults*** levels in ***Administration – System permissions***.

To set the permissions for users and/or user groups, use the ***Edit*** button at the top right.

The ***Roles*** list is set with default permissions, but can be personalized in ***Customs***. Click the ***View Roles Definition*** button to choose from the list.
